Photographs of you, intimate, authentic, empowered

Our photography captures the telling gesture, the expression, the mood of the moment. Your experience of self-acceptance, confidence and self-love.
Intimate personal portraiture
Look into the mirror and say to yourself "I am enough."
Take a step on a journey into empowerment and celebrate your authentic uniqueness with a personal photoshoot. You don't need to know how to pose, we'll show you, you just bring an openness to seeing yourself anew, accepting your own beauty, maybe even falling in love with yourself in a way you haven't before.
We often say to ourselves - "one day", but "one day" never comes
Booking a photoshoot with us means talking through with what you want, your ideas, your excitement for making personal images, getting pampered and being directed through a relaxed, fun, confidence inspiring photoshoot. Then ordering a beautiful set of images to celebrate yourself as you are - right now.

Self-acceptance and confidence in yourself are a stunning combination to wear
Intimate portraiture is a way to celebrate yourself as you are right now, and yet connect with yourself in a new and deeply personal way. There are so many good reasons to experience a photography shoot but at the core is an opportunity for seeing, feeling and believing in yourself as beautiful and amazing.
our process
getting to know you
The first thing after you contact us is to have a chat. We'll chat about your interest and excitement for portraits, go through your questions and provide the information you need and make sure we're the right photographer for you. Then we can book a time for a pre-session consultation planning meeting.
meeting up and planning
Over a coffee we'll get to know each other better and discuss how you feel about doing the session and your goals for the session in a pre-session consultation. We'll chat about your shoot in more detail and any looks you're thinking about, and check we're on the same page about those things. You can tell us anything we might need to know, including allergies or injuries. We'll go over the agreement and make a tentative session date. After that we'll start planning the shoot and what to do next including ideas on the sorts of outfits you might want to organise.
preparing for your photo shoot
We'll keep in contact and send you information to prepare for your shoot. We'll create a mood board so that we can collaborate on for your outfits and you can send us images of outfits you're thinking of if you want some guidance.
your session
On the day of the session, we'll go through your outfits together when you arrive and choose the order for your session. Then you can sit and relax while being pampered by our amazing hair and make artist. Hair and makeup will take about an hour and a half to two hours. Then the photography lasts between an hour and half to two hours. We'll warm up into the posing. We'll coach you through movements and poses that will show off your uniqueness and beauty. Everyone feels excitement or frisson before jumping in front of a camera, but in no time you'll relax into it will be rocking confidence and fun as you bring your best you to the camera. This part is fun and it's a bit of a workout too. This can also be an extremely valuable transformative time if you allow yourself to enjoy the moment and the freedom to express yourself.
preparing your image proofs
Once you head home, we will spend time on your photographs, refining the set and preparing the proofs for your review.
selecting and receiving your images
Then we'll have a selection and ordering session together. We'll go through the proofs and you pick the ones you want printed as a folio of prints, an album or wall art. It can be hard to choose between so many lovely images, but Brett will be there to help guide you towards artworks you'll love. After that Brett will refine the images further and print your artworks. It will take some weeks for wall art and albums to be printed and delivered. Then we'll meet once again and Brett will present you with your artworks of yourself.
the session
location for your shoot
We will travel with our gear to where you want to hold your session. This could be your home if you feel more comfortable there. You could rent a location such as a boutique hotel room of sufficient size. Or we can hire a studio for you. We can chat over location ideas in the pre-session consultation.
your photographer
Brett is your photographer. After seeing a woman's perception of herself transform by the photos he made for her, he decided combining intimate portraiture, creative expression, fun and good times into stunning photos for people who need and want to see themselves in a new light was too awesome to ignore. Brett holds a Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging and has been creating with expensive cameras for many years.
your hair and makeup artist
We will book a professional makeup artist for you. That's likely to be Jaii when she is available. Jaii is an awesome, attentive hair and makeup artist. Jaii will wave her magic brushes over you, style your hair, assist you during your session and make you feel on top of the world while she does it. Jaii is a curve model, runs her own makeup business and sings at weddings so you might have even met Jaii already. Did we mention Jaii is awesome!?

fees
no-charge pre-session consulation
We'll meet over coffee or chat on the phone to get to know each other, discuss your reasons, expectations and ideas for the photoshoot. We'll go through what we offer, what we charge and answer your questions. When you're excited to proceed, we'll take the first steps towards planning and arranging your session.
session reservation fee
When we book your session we block out a day from our calendar and book a professional hair and makeup artist for you. We may also hire equipment or other services. For these reasons, we require a $200 reservation fee to have been paid to hold the session time for you.
You can use the reservation fee you paid as credit towards the artwork you order from us. If you decide not to purchase anything after your ordering session we'll refund half of the reservation fee you paid - we're confident you'll love your images and committed to make sure you have a great experience with us.
sessions with special arrangements
Usually there will be no other fees. If we will incur significant costs or time specific to your session requirements, like hiring a studio, special gear or an assistant, we may ask you to pay a custom session fee to cover these which is in addition to the reservation fee. We will discuss and agree locations and all fees with you in a pre-session consultation.
changing your reservation
If you want to change your booking let us know quickly and we'll try to do that. As time passes, we may incur costs from the arrangements we've made for you that we just cannot cancel, we deduct those from what you've paid us before offering any remaining refund for session cancellation.

faq
I have never done something like this, can I do it?
Absolutely! You're probably wondering how to pose - most people don't know how. I'll show and tell you what to do to look fantastic in front of the camera. You might even laugh at me demonstrating a pose for you, but when you do it, it will look awesome. It will be fun, transformational, it might feel like a workout at times, but you'll love the results.
how will you know what I want?
I meet every client for a pre-consultation before they commit. We'll meet and get to know each other. We'll talk about the reasons you want a boudoir shoot and use the time to plan the shoot together and what comes next.
can I bring a friend?
Totally. Someone who's only thought is to be there to hype and support you when you want it, but not distract or insert themselves into the session can be helpful. Though overall, you'll want to be able to be present for yourself.
can I do my own hair and makeup?
The time you spend having your makeup and hair done by us is an important time for you to sit back, chill, get pampered and settle in so that you're present, relaxed and ready for your photography shoot. For this reason, hair and makeup are always included as part of your session so that you feel amazing and confident in front of the camera. We understand some people prefer to do their own makeup but we require you to come fresh faced without makeup so that our artist can apply particular camera-ready makeup perfect for beautiful photos. If you have allergies to certain products, tell us in the pre-consultation.
do you photoshop?
Yes, retouching is the final polish to make images you'll love, but above all our priority is that you recognise your beautiful authentic self in the images, so we avoid significant digital manipulation. We'll remove temporary marks such a bruises, pimples, extraneous items on set, etc. We don't remove your permanent features, but we will downplay anything undesirably highlighted by technicalities of lights, pose or camera.
will you share my photos?
Only with your signed consent. Sharing photos encourages others that they can do this too, but your photos are for you and it's totally fine if you do not want to share them. We'll ask you to sign your consent for any photos you're happy for us to share.
male photographer?
Yes, mature and happily married to my beautiful, wise, kind soul mate. It important you find a photographer you can trust and whose images speak to you - photos reveal what you're feeling. Let's get to know each other during a pre-consultation call or over coffee.
oh, bother...
Pads can be noticeable in photos, but more importantly if you think you're not going to be able to enjoy your session fully then let us know and we'll reschedule because our aim is for you to have a fantastic experience and for the photos reflect that.
